If you are 17 or 18 and have not taken drivers training you will need to take our regular 7 drive course - even though you are not legally required to take drivers training if you get an instruction (learners) permit.  More information below.

If you are a teen who needs extra practice and have already taken driver training (have a permit) -

Please click on the scheduling page below, scroll down to the schedule, and find a time that will work for you.  Please text us "my son/daughter has a permit and would like this day and time for a practice drive"  The cost is $100 for 2 to 2.5 hours based on your skill level.  [Also we do not honor permits from other states.]

Or if you are an adult 19+ and wish to practice driving-

You must get your Instruction Permit first by going to the DMV and taking their written test.  Please do this step before contacting us.  Once you have the permit please text us to see what open times are available or you can go the scheduling page.   The cost is $100 for 2 to 2.5 hours based on your skill level.  Please refer to the Idaho Driver Manual for information on adults getting their permits.

How many drives should you schedule?  If you have a little driving experience most adults schedule 2 to 3.  If you have no driving experience you should schedule at least 4.  If you have high anxiety or are from a culture with very little vehicles it would be best to do at least 5 drives.

Or if you are at least 17 and want to take the 7-drive course (doesn't matter what age you are)

You can also take the same basic course as 14 1/2 year old students.  You can either get your Instruction Permit by taking the DMV written test as stated above, or get your Supervised Instruction Permit.  Make sure you take the required documents when getting your Instruction Permit or Supervised Instruction Permit.

The Instruction Permit (also called a learners permit) allows you to practice in any vehicle with a licensed 18 year old driver.

With the Supervised Instruction Permit the DMV sends the permit to the driving school of your choice.  You would not get the permit until both the driving and online portion of the course are completed (traditional drivers training).  It is not advised to get a Supervised Instruction Permit because you must complete the online classroom course also in order to get your permit.

It is best to take the DMV written test to get the Instruction Permit.  This way you have more flexibility in your training (and you can still take our basic or enhanced course).

Scheduling is the same whether you get the Instruction Permit or Supervised Instruction Permit - simply follow the steps on the scheduling page.  Please refer to the Idaho Driver Manual for information on adults getting their permits.
