17 and over students are not required to take driver training.  When you are 17 you can go to the DMV and take the written test.  If you pass, you will get an Instruction Permit.  The Instruction Permit allows the student to practice driving in any vehicle with the supervision of a licensed adult driver.  This also includes a driver training vehicle with a licensed instructor.  Since you have passed the DMV written test, you will not need to take the online course.  When you feel you are ready to take the Skills Test (driving test), you will schedule a test with a southwest Idaho skills tester.  Students who do not take driver training are at least twice as likely to get into a wreck or break the law.
